On
Matariki day you have go to sleep early and
wake
up early and get in the car to go to the
beach and light the fire to welcome the 7
stars.
Some people think Matariki is the home
for
7 gods in the sky. Maori people have a
bonfire
because it is cold and dark in the
morning.
They sing sad songs. They look in the
bonfire.
At Matariki you can go to the house
and
you have to pray to god and prayers go up
and
the wishes come down.
